Halloween 2024 at Tiny Tots Ashbourne
At Tiny Tots Childcare, Halloween was a fun celebration for our little ones! Our staff organised plenty of sensory play and arts and crafts activities. We welcomed the spooky season with play sessions that encouraged exploration, creativity, and fun. Each class had its own unique Halloween-themed festivities, and we loved seeing the excitement and smiles on our children’s faces as they participated.
Our Busy Bees AM class in Churchfields got their hands messy in the kitchen, baking delicious pumpkin cream cheese muffins. This activity was more than just a treat—it gave the children a chance to mix, measure, and explore the textures and scents of the ingredients. Baking helps little hands practice fine motor skills while introducing basic concepts of counting and measurement.
Over in Genius Gems, things got extra gooey with purple glue messy play. Messy play is not just loads of fun; it’s also a fantastic way for children to explore different textures and engage their senses. Messy activities like these encourage children to use their imagination and creativity while strengthening their hand muscles and coordination.
Our Best Butterflies Early Intervention class at Churchfields also engaged in Halloween-themed sensory play, which is especially important for children’s development. Through sensory play, they explored the world around them, developed fine motor skills, and learned ways to self-regulate. Engaging in sensory activities fosters cognitive growth and supports a variety of learning styles by tapping into the senses and creating meaningful hands-on experiences.
Meanwhile, the Afterschool children in ETNS explored their creative side by making spooky ghost crafts during their mid-term break. Crafting not only fuels the imagination but also improves concentration, patience, and teamwork. It was heartwarming to see the pride they took in their ghostly creations!
At our Killegland location, the Halloween celebrations were equally fun! The Kangaroos group had a wonderful time with some Halloween-inspired creativity, cutting a “witch’s hair” as part of their seasonal activities. This fine motor exercise was a hit with the little ones as they practiced using scissors with precision while great time.
Finally, our Brown Bears and Pandas enjoyed a Halloween tuff tray filled with spooky elements. This interactive sensory activity invited them to use their fine motor skills to explore and manipulate different textures and objects, fostering curiosity and confidence through hands-on learning.
Halloween at Tiny Tots Childcare was a memorable time for our students and staff. The sensory-rich activities we provided not only supported developmental skills but also made for a magical experience of discovery, growth, and joy. Here’s to more fun-filled learning adventures! 🎃
